I've been making Bluetooth speakers inside small drum shells and this old drum photo caught my attention.  The finish is similar to your radio cabinet.

This one advances the audio quality (quite a lot) by adding a 6-inch subwoofer to the 50-watt per channel system you heard at Animefest.

These are 10-watt systems but with the same 4-inch speakers as in my 50-watt systems at the show instead of the smaller 2x4 inch speakers in my regular line.
